Expense Summary Report
The Expense Summary Report gives you a complete picture of your business spending for any period. Here is how to use it.
Accessing the Report
Go to Dashboard → Reports → Expenses
What the Report Shows
Total expenses — Sum of all logged expenses for the period.
By category — Breakdown of spending across Materials, Tools, Vehicle, Subcontractors, Insurance, Marketing, and Other.
Top vendors — Which suppliers or stores you spent the most with.
Month-by-month trend — How your spending changes over time.
Tax-deductible total — Estimate of deductible business expenses (based on categories — confirm with your CPA).
Filtering the Report
By date range — View a specific month, quarter, or custom date range.
By category — Isolate just materials or just vehicle expenses.
By job/customer — If you tagged expenses to customers, filter by customer to see job-level costs.
Using the Report for Estimated Taxes
If you make quarterly estimated tax payments, the Expense Summary helps you calculate your deductible expenses for the quarter. Your estimated tax = (revenue − expenses) × your effective tax rate.
Sharing With Your Accountant
Tap Export CSV to download the full expense list. The export includes every transaction with category, vendor, amount, date, and notes — ready to hand to your accountant.
