Referral Earnings and Tax (1099)
US Tax Reporting
If you earn $600 or more in referral commissions in a calendar year, JobsPaid is required to issue you a 1099-NEC form for tax reporting purposes. This form will be sent to you by January 31 of the following year.
What This Means for You
- Referral earnings are considered self-employment income for US contractors
- You are responsible for reporting this income on your federal and state tax returns
- If you expect to earn over $1,000 in referral commissions, consider making estimated quarterly tax payments
How to Provide Your Tax Information
- Go to Dashboard → Rewards → Payout Settings
- Enter your legal name and Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN) as required for 1099 issuance
- This information is encrypted and stored securely
International Contractors
Tax rules vary by country. JobsPaid follows local tax reporting requirements for each country. If you are outside the US, consult a local tax advisor about how referral income is treated in your jurisdiction.
Getting Your 1099
Your 1099-NEC will be:
- Emailed to the address on your account
- Available for download from your Rewards dashboard after January 15
Note: JobsPaid is not a tax advisor. If you have questions about your specific tax situation, consult a qualified tax professional.
