Updating Your Contractor License

When You Need to Update Your License

Your contractor license number is important for your invoices and quotes - it shows customers you're properly licensed. You'll need to update it in JobsPaid when you renew your license or get a new one.

How to Update Your License Number

  1. Open JobsPaid and tap Dashboard at the bottom of your screen
  2. Look for Settings (usually shown with a gear icon) and tap it
  3. Find and tap Account or Profile in the settings menu
  4. Scroll down until you see License Number or Contractor License
  5. Tap the text box next to your current license number
  6. Delete the old number and type in your new license number
  7. Double-check that you've entered it correctly - no extra spaces or typos
  8. Tap Save or Update to confirm the changes

Your new license number will now appear on all future invoices and quotes you create.

Why This Matters

Having the correct license number on your invoices isn't just professional - it's often required by law in many states. Customers feel more confident hiring licensed contractors, and some won't work with you without seeing proof of your license.

Checking Your Work

After updating, create a test quote or invoice to make sure your new license number appears correctly. If you don't see it, go back and check that you saved your changes properly.

Common Mistakes

Don't forget to remove any dashes, spaces, or extra characters that might not belong in your license number format

Make sure you're entering your contractor license number, not your business license or tax ID number - they're different things

Remember to update this right away when you renew - don't wait until a customer asks about it
