Payment Failed for My Subscription
If your subscription payment failed, do not worry — your data is safe and you have a grace period to fix it. Here is what to do.
Why Payments Fail
Common reasons subscription payments fail:
- Card expired — Your card has passed its expiration date
- Insufficient funds — Your account did not have enough balance
- Card declined — Your bank blocked the transaction (sometimes happens automatically for recurring charges)
- Updated card info — You got a new card with a different number
What Happens to Your Account
When a payment fails:
- Day 1 — Payment fails, email notification sent to you
- Day 3 — Retry attempt (automatic)
- Day 7 — Second retry
- Day 14 — Account suspended if payment still failed
During the grace period, you retain full access to JobsPaid. Your invoices, customers, and data are completely safe.
How to Fix It
- Go to Dashboard → Settings → Billing
- Tap Update Payment Method
- Enter a valid card
- Tap Retry Payment Now
Your account restores immediately and your subscription continues from where it left off.
Did You Lose Any Invoices?
No. Even if your account is suspended, all your data is preserved. It is never deleted due to payment issues. Your invoices, customers, and expense records are all there when you reactivate.
Preventing Future Failures
- Keep your card updated in Settings when you get a new card
- Enable payment failure notifications so you catch issues immediately
- Consider using a dedicated business debit card that will not be flagged for recurring charges
