When Do I Get My Money? (Payout Schedule)

Here is exactly when money from customer payments arrives in your bank account.

Standard Payout Timeline (US)

When a customer pays your invoice online through Stripe:

• Day 1 — Customer payment is captured
• Day 2-3 — Stripe processes and initiates the transfer
• Day 3-5 — Money appears in your bank account

In practice, most US contractors see payments in their bank within 2 business days of a customer paying.

First Payout Delay

New Stripe accounts have a 7-day delay on their first payout. This is Stripe's standard fraud prevention for new accounts. After your first payout clears, subsequent payouts follow the standard 2-day timeline.

Payout Schedule Options

By default, Stripe pays out on a rolling 2-day basis. You can change this in your Stripe dashboard:

• Daily — Money transferred every business day
• Weekly — Transferred every Monday
• Monthly — Transferred on the 1st of each month

To change: log in to dashboard.stripe.com → Settings → Bank accounts and scheduling.

Instant Payouts (If Available)

Stripe offers Instant Payouts for eligible accounts, depositing funds to your debit card within 30 minutes for a 1.5% fee ($0.50 minimum). Availability depends on your Stripe account status.

Weekends and Holidays

Bank transfers do not process on weekends or US bank holidays. Payments collected Friday afternoon may not arrive until Tuesday.
