Understanding Stripe Fees
Stripe charges a small processing fee every time a customer pays your invoice online. Here is exactly how the fees work and what you actually receive.
Standard US Fee
2.9% + $0.30 per successful card transaction
This fee is deducted automatically from each payment before it reaches your bank account.
Examples
| Invoice Amount | Stripe Fee | You Receive |
|---|---|---|
| $100 | $3.20 | $96.80 |
| $500 | $14.80 | $485.20 |
| $1,000 | $29.30 | $970.70 |
| $2,500 | $72.80 | $2,427.20 |
International Cards
Payments from cards issued outside the US incur an additional 1.5% fee. If your customer is paying from a foreign card, add 1.5% to the standard fee.
No Monthly Fees from Stripe
Stripe does not charge a monthly fee. You only pay when a customer pays you. If no one pays that month, you pay nothing.
JobsPaid Does Not Add Fees
JobsPaid does not charge any additional payment processing fees beyond what Stripe charges. The fee breakdown is the standard Stripe rate.
Covering Stripe Fees
Some contractors add a small "convenience fee" line item to invoices to offset the card processing cost. This is legal in most US states, though some states restrict surcharges. Check your state's rules before doing this.
