How to Follow Up on an Unanswered Quote
Sending a quote and hearing nothing is frustrating — but it happens. Here is a practical system for following up without being pushy.
Day 3: First Follow-Up
If you sent the quote and have not heard back in 3 days, send a quick check-in:
"Hi [Name], just checking in on the quote I sent for [job description]. Happy to answer any questions or adjust anything. Let me know!"
This is a soft touch. Many customers are busy and just need a nudge.
Day 7: Second Follow-Up
If still no response after a week:
"Hi [Name], wanted to follow up on the [job] quote from last week. The quote is valid until [expiry date] — just let me know if you would like to move forward or if your plans have changed."
Day 14: Final Follow-Up
One more attempt, then let it go:
"Hi [Name], just checking one more time on the quote for [job]. I have other projects coming up so I wanted to give you first priority. Let me know by [date] if you are interested. No worries if the timing is not right."
Using the Reminder Feature
From the quote detail page, tap Send Reminder to use the built-in reminder template instead of composing from scratch.
Why Quotes Go Unanswered
- Price was higher than expected — ask if they want to adjust scope
- They got a lower bid — ask what price would work
- Not urgent enough — check if timing changed
- Poor communication habit — some people just do not respond quickly
When to Walk Away
After 2–3 follow-ups with no response, mark the quote as closed and move on. Your time is better spent on clients who engage.
