What Happens When a Customer Accepts or Rejects Your Quote
Understanding what happens on both sides — yours and the customer's — helps you run a faster and more professional sales process.
Customer Accepts the Quote
What the customer does: Taps the Accept button on the quote page.
What you see:
- Notification: "Maria Gonzalez accepted your quote!"
- Quote status updates to Accepted in your dashboard
- The accept timestamp is recorded
What to do next: Convert the quote to an invoice when the work is complete (see "Converting a Quote to an Invoice").
Customer Rejects (Declines) the Quote
What the customer does: Taps the Decline button.
What you see:
- Notification: "Maria Gonzalez declined your quote."
- Quote status updates to Declined
What to do next: Nothing required. If you want to follow up, reach out to understand why — sometimes a customer declines due to price or timing and is open to negotiation.
Customer Does Nothing (No Response)
If the customer neither accepts nor rejects, the quote stays in Sent status. After 30 days (or your custom expiry), it moves to Expired.
Tip: Follow up manually if you have not heard back within 3–5 days. Send a polite message: "Did you get a chance to look at the quote? Happy to answer any questions."
Quote Expired
An expired quote can be reactivated by opening it and tapping Extend Expiry. The customer keeps the same link and can accept the extended quote.
Multiple Customers, Same Quote
Each quote is for one customer. If you are quoting the same job for multiple customers, create separate quotes for each.
