Deleting a Customer

Managing your customer list is important for keeping your business organized. Sometimes you may need to remove a customer permanently from your JobsPaid account. Here's how to delete a customer safely and what you should know before doing so.

Before You Delete a Customer

Think carefully before deleting a customer. Once removed, all their information will be permanently erased and cannot be recovered. Consider if you might need their contact details or project history in the future for warranty work or references.

Steps to Delete a Customer

  1. Open your JobsPaid app and tap on Customers from the main menu
  2. Find the customer you want to delete by scrolling through your list or using the search bar at the top
  3. Tap on the customer's name to open their profile
  4. Look for the three dots menu (⋯) in the top right corner and tap it
  5. Select Delete Customer from the dropdown menu
  6. Read the warning message carefully - this action cannot be undone
  7. Tap Delete to confirm, or Cancel if you change your mind

The customer will be immediately removed from your list along with all their stored information.

What Happens When You Delete a Customer

When you delete a customer, JobsPaid removes:

However, any invoices or quotes you've already sent will remain in your Invoices and quotes sections for your records.

Alternative to Deleting

Instead of deleting, you might want to simply stop working with a customer but keep their information. In this case, just don't create new invoices or quotes for them. Their information stays safely stored if you need it later.

Common Mistakes

Don't delete customers who still owe you money - you'll lose track of outstanding payments and their contact details for collections.

Avoid deleting customers with warranty work pending - you might need their information for future service calls.

Remember that deleted customers cannot be restored, so double-check before confirming the deletion.
