Editing Customer Information
If a customer's phone number, address, or name has changed, updating their profile ensures future invoices reach them correctly. Here is how.
Editing a Customer Profile
- Go to Dashboard → Customers
- Search for or tap the customer you want to edit
- Tap Edit (pencil icon)
- Update the relevant fields
- Tap Save
What You Can Update
- Full name
- Phone number (primary and secondary)
- Email address
- Physical address
- Company name
- Notes
Does Editing Update Old Invoices?
Changing a customer's profile does not retroactively update invoices that were already sent. Old invoices retain the information that was on them at the time of sending.
New invoices created after the edit will use the updated information.
Updating Phone Number (Important)
If a customer changes their number, update it immediately. If the old number is active and receiving your invoices, another person may be seeing your customer's financial information.
Merging Duplicate Customers
If you accidentally created two profiles for the same customer (e.g., "John Smith" and "John S"), contact support@jobspaid.ai to merge the records. The support team can combine both profiles and reassign all invoices to a single customer record.
Notes Field Best Uses
The notes field is a great place to record:
- Payment preferences ("prefers Venmo over card")
- Communication preferences ("text only, no calls")
- Job history ("repeat landscaping client since 2024")
- Specific instructions ("gate code is 1234")
