Managing Customer Contact Info
Keeping your customer information current is essential for getting paid on time and maintaining professional relationships. When contact details are outdated, your invoices might not reach clients, leading to delayed payments and frustration.
Finding Customer Information
- Open JobsPaid and tap Dashboard
- Select Customers from the menu
- Find the customer you need to update and tap their name
- You'll see their current contact information displayed
Updating Contact Details
- On the customer's profile page, tap Edit (usually in the top right corner)
- Update any information that needs changing:
- Email Address - Make sure this is current since invoices are sent here
- Phone Number - Include area code for accurate contact
- Business Address - Update if they've moved locations
- Billing Address - This might be different from their work location
- Tap Save when you're finished
Adding New Contact Information
If a customer gives you additional contact methods:
- In the customer's profile, tap Edit
- Look for empty fields like Secondary Phone or Mobile Number
- Add the new information
- Always ask which contact method they prefer for invoices
- Tap Save to store the changes
Keeping Information Current
Make it a habit to confirm contact details during each job. Ask customers if their email or phone number has changed, especially if you haven't worked with them in a while. This simple step prevents invoice delivery problems later.
When customers pay late, often it's because they didn't receive your invoice due to outdated email addresses. Spending a few minutes updating their information can save hours of follow-up calls.
Common Mistakes
Don't assume contact information stays the same. People change emails and phone numbers more often than you might think.
Always double-check email addresses for typos. A simple mistake like ".com" instead of ".net" means your invoice won't arrive.
Remember to update both billing and service addresses if they're different locations.
