Understanding Bilingual PDF Layout
What Are Bilingual PDFs?
When you create invoices in JobsPaid, you can choose to display information in both English and Spanish on the same document. This bilingual PDF layout shows both languages side by side, making it easy for all your customers to understand your invoices, regardless of which language they prefer.
How Bilingual Layout Works
Your bilingual invoices will display key information in both languages automatically:
- Open your Dashboard and click Invoices
- Create a new invoice or edit an existing one
- Go to Settings > Defaults and enable Bilingual Mode
- When you generate the PDF, labels will appear like this:
- "Invoice / Factura" at the top
- "Due Date / Fecha de Vencimiento" for payment terms
- "Description / Descripción" for work performed
- "Total / Total" for amounts due
Understanding the Side-by-Side Format
The bilingual PDF keeps both languages clearly organized:
- English text appears first, followed by Spanish text
- Labels are separated by a forward slash (/)
- Dollar amounts and numbers stay the same in both languages
- Your business information displays in your preferred language
- Customer details appear as you entered them
Switching Between Languages
You can easily control how your invoices display:
- Go to Settings > Profile
- Select your Primary Language (English or Spanish)
- Toggle Bilingual PDF on or off
- Click Save Changes
- All future invoices will use your selected format
Common Mistakes
Don't worry if your first bilingual invoice looks different than expected. You can always preview before sending by clicking Preview PDF in the invoice editor.
Remember that changing the bilingual setting only affects new invoices. Previously created invoices will keep their original language format.
Some customers might prefer receiving invoices in just one language. You can create separate invoice templates for different customer preferences.
